Baltic Sea Tourism Center – Förderantrag South Baltic Programme

Im 1. Call des South Baltic Programme im Dezember 2015 wurde der Projektantrag „Baltic Sea Tourism Center“ unter Federführung des Tourismusverbandes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Lead Partner) eingereicht, mit Expertise begleitet durch die Unternehmensberatung Susanne Marx (Projektentwicklung, Moderation etc.).

„The objective of the project is an improved cross-border tourism communication and cooperation facilitated by a permanent service unit – the Baltic Sea Tourism Center. It associates the tourism stakeholders and promotes sustainable, responsible and innovative tourism in the SBR as an intermediate on operational level between the strategic, political decision makers and the tourism industry. This new approach will also result into a new set-up of the Baltic Sea Tourism Forum, as a yearly networking and think-tank event. In the project a committed and experienced group of partners from all SBR countries will investigate and implement joint structures, strategy and pilot services for various target groups in the regional scope of the SBR and prepare for a later roll-out to the entire Baltic Sea region after the South Baltic project ends. Selected pilot services, like a capacity building programme for tourism professionals, tourism SMEs and tour operators and processes for regular market data reports shall produce best-practices to demonstrate the capabilities of the BSTC for future partners/members. As a flagship project, the BSTC directly implements the EUSBSR action plan and will have a considerable impact on sustainable tourism development in the region.“

BalticMuseums LOVEit – Projektantrag Südliche Ostsee

Im Dezember 2015 hat das BalticMuseums Konsortium um den Lead Partner Fachhochschule Stralsund den Projektantrag „BalticMuseums LOVEit“ im EU Programm Südliche Ostsee eingereicht. Die Förderentscheidung seitens der EU wird Ende April 2016 erwartet. Gemeinsam mit Partnern aus Dänemark, Schweden, Deutschland, Polen und Litauen sowie weiteren assoziierten Partnern aus Russland, der Niederlande und Estland sollen IT Trends für Museen und Attraktionen an der Ostseeküste nutzbar gemacht werden.

“BalticMuseums LOVEit” addresses the challenge to enable staff of coastal attractions is to love IT and that their visitors love it. Starting with capacity building , the project partners gain knowledge in the User Experience (UX) concept, focussing on a comprehensive visitor experience. The project helps attractions to exploit major IT trends identified in the opinion-leading Horizon Report Museums Edition 2015. The project provides tools to enable attractions to offer tours with a Bring Your Own Device strategy using recently emerging Multi-channel ePlatforms. These software services make eGuide offers scalable working on manifold devices of visitors. The project addresses the trend of Gamification with an innovative approach of Game Jam events in attractions.“

Der Online Auftritt der Akademie für Unternehmens- und Personalentwicklung in Rostock wurde optisch, redaktionell und technisch neu gestaltet. Im Fokus ist der Bereich Tipps, in dem das Team um Annegret Naumann, Geschäftsführerin der Axanthos pro Akademie GmbH, regelmäßig hilfreiche Hinweise zu Themen wie Konfliktmanagement, Zeitmanagement oder Mitarbeitergespräche gibt. Unternehmen, Führungskräfte und Personal Manager werden mit Coaching, Seminaren, Interim Management oder Einzelberatung in Entwicklungsprozsessen begleitet. Zusätzlich veranstaltet die Axanthos pro Akademie den Rhetorik Club in Rostock – die Elite Speaker.

Die Erstellung der Webseite mit Konzeption und Redaktion übernahm Susanne Marx, Unternehmensberaterin aus Rostock, die technische Betreuung Daniel Weihmann.

BalticMuseums represented by Susanne Marx at European Tourism Conference. Successful cooperation in coastal and maritime tourism in Europe was the topic of the  European conference: „Smart cooperation in coastal and maritime tourism – Encouraging transnational partnerships through clusters and networks“ in  Brussels, 20 January 2015.

The European Commission had invited speakers from all the European coastal areas to demonstrate their experiences with local and transnational cooperation and their visions for the future. The BalticMuseusms projects were presented by Susanne Marx, BalticMuseums information manager on behalf of Stralsund University of Applied Sciences. Not only the successfully launched eGuides were presented, but also the technical means applied for cooperation and mutual promotion, the developed skills of team members and the vision for both a regionally and a content-wise enhanced cooperation at the crossroads of ICT, museum services and tourism. About 230 representatives of clusters and networks, national and regional representatives, nautical associations, cruise, chambers of commerce and SMEs from all European countries took part in the conference. Mr. Pedro Ortùn, Director in charge of Service industries at the European Commission, emphasised the importance of cooperation even beyond competition, the need to exploit ICT and the cooperation across industries with the common target of smart and sustainable growth.

BalticMuseums erhält weitere EU Mittel

Im Januar 2015 erhielt die Fachhochschule Stralsund den Zuschlag der Europäischen Union über zusätzliche Fördermittel in Höhe von gut 100.000 Euro für ihr internationales Projekt „BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus“. Die Einführung von mehrsprachigen, elektronischen Besucherführern (eGuides) in Meeresmuseen steht im Mittelpunkt der grenzübergreifenden Projektarbeit, an der unter Federführung der Fachhochschule Stralsund auch das Deutsche Meeresmuseum sowie Partner aus Polen, Litauen, Russland und Schweden beteiligt sind. „Die weitere Förderung unseres Projektes ist eine großartige Anerkennung für unsere bisher geleistete Arbeit“, freut sich Professor Michael Klotz (Fachhochschule Stralsund). Die verlängerte Projektlaufzeit bis April 2015 werden die Partner nutzen, um ihre Erfahrungen der eGuide Entwicklung an Fachkollegen im In- und Ausland weiterzugeben, das Angebot der eGuides für Besucher zu bewerben und weitere Projektideen an der Schnittstelle von IT, Museumsservices und Tourismus für die Zukunft zu schmieden.

BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus Conference in Szczecin

On 20th May 2014, the BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus Conference is taking place at the University of Szczecin. Under the headline “Advancing museum education by IT systems” the project team members present their experiences during the project cooperation of BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus, a project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund in the past three years. Dedicated to introducing electronic visitor guidance systems in oceanographic museums, the project team has gained valuable insights in how to make use of IT systems for enhanced museum education and edutainment. Experts from Poland, Lithuania, Russia and Germany will discuss their findings.

Active Beach Warnemünde 2013

active-beach-2013Von Juni bis September 2013 lädt der ACTIVE BEACH WARNEMÜNDE – der Spiel- und Sportstrand – zu aktiver Erholung mit Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball und weiteren Sportarten am feinen Sandstrand im Seebad Warnemünde ein. Team visits Maritime Museum in Rostock

BalticMuseums_SchifffahrtsmuseumBalticMuseums team members from the Museum of the World Ocean visited the Maritime Museum (Schiffbau- und Schifffahrtsmuseum) in Rostock during the latest project meeting in February 2013. Dr. Peter Danker-Carstensen, its’ director, made a brilliant guided-tour and acknowledged his visitors with the splendid collection and the museum exposition. The museum itself is located aboard the dry-cargo named “Traditionsschiff TYP FRIEDEN”, earlier “Dresden”.

“Over a dozen ships of this type were built and the Dresden was one of them”, proudly says Mr Danker- Carstensen and continues on the ship and shipbuilding history in Rostock, about achievements and records of East German shipbuilders. Since 1931 the shipyard Neptun had constructed boats for export. The USSR was the main customer, over several hundreds of different ships were built for its needs. Construction of loggers and trawler-loggers by reparation order for the Soviet Union was a significant event for Neptun shipyard in the after-war time. The boats were built in accordance with new techniques – ships’ hulls were welded but not riveted as before. In 1949-1952, 179 fishing boats were built for the USSR, including the Kaliningrad SRT-129, exhibited at the Museum of the World Ocean. The SRT boats played an outstanding role in fishing. In the 1950s they sailed to the Atlantic Ocean for fishing and searched for new fishing areas. Thanks to them Kaliningrad provided 11% of catch of the whole country. But life of these boats was short, they were built for fast recoupment and when a ship was worn out it was just written off to scrap metal. But the SRT-129 luckily had got different fortune. After short period of work it was passed to the Navy, and then in 1996 – to Kaliningrad fishing port. After some time, in 2009, it got a new museum life and joined the Museum of the World Ocean.

Rostock welcomes BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus

BalticMuseums in RostockThe BalticMuseums team held its first meeting of 2013 in Rostock in Germany, 20-22 February. The workshops of the meeting were concentrating on sharing the content for eguides. This content is produced in various formats like pictures, sounds, videos and graphics. Next to analyzing and presenting which files have been shared a special focus was given to the technical tool for exchanging these files amongst the partners in a systematic way. The copyright situation for each item was discussed, being an important issue when using content in various institutions. The museums in Gdynia, Stralsund and Klaipeda showed the actual status of their eguide tours. The German Oceanographic Museum for example prepares the introduction of the new guides with the opening of the NAUTINEUM for the season on 1 May 2013. A first version of the guide could be tested during the meeting. The team was especially happy to welcome Ms Krüger (EUKOS, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH) during the meeting, a member of the project’s German advisory board.

The location of Rostock was chosen due to the recently opened DARWINEUM in the zoo of Rostock, a new exhibition complex that also contains aquaria.
